When you arrive in Crete, try to adjust to the local rhythm. Take off your watch, slow down, breathe deep, and enjoy.
In Crete, forget about speeding things up – everything moves “siga siga” (slowly, slowly). But there is so much to see and do. So, just raise your head, look around, smile at the people on the street, and remember a few important things: Cretans are very nice and kind. They will always try to help you if you need something. They love when you say a few words in Greek. For that matter, “Kalimera” means good morning, “Kalispera” means good afternoon, “Tikanis” means how are you, and the answer to “Tikanis” is usually “kala” or “ola kala,” which means ‘good’ or ‘all good’.
With this in mind, you should be in the right mode to enjoy yourself and maybe even make some friends. Welcome to Crete, and let your adventure begin!
